Presidential Candidates Are Coming to Campus

SAINTS ITS YOUR TIME NOW!

It is time for the finalists of the Presidential search for Saint Martin’s to come to campus and show us what they have envisioned for the future of the University and its students. Students will have the opportunity to meet and speak with the finalists of the search during student lunch sessions for a Q & A, and yes lunch is provided for those in attendance.

The Q & A. session will allow students to ask questions to the finalists’ questions that were probably not looked at during the interview process. There will also be a zoom link for those that are unable to make it to the in-person portion and if you are uncomfortable with asking questions in front of your peers, worry not there is a QR Code where you can submit your questions anonymously!

Brian Schmisek

The first session is to introduce Dr. Brian Schmisek Monday, March 11, at the TUB from 12PM-1PM. A little about Dr. Brian Schmisek is that he is the current IL at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota but was previously the Provost and Dean of Faculties at the same university. Besides his long list of accomplishments as a leader at Saint Mary’s University, he is also an author, publishing books in subjects that surround realism in religion. If you cannot make it to any of his daytime sessions, there is also an opportunity to attend the Community Town Hall Meeting through Zoom or in person at the Worthington Conference Center on March 11 from 6PM-7PM.

William Brownsberger

Next, let’s introduce our second finalist that will be visiting Thursday, March 16 for his student lunch session from 12PM-1PM in the TUB, as well. Dr. William “Bill” Brownsberger was the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Mountain Empire Community College. Dr. Bill Brownsberger worked in other positions of higher authority, the most notable listed was of his time as Dean of Arts and Sciences at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, and he has over 20 years of experience of higher education, especially in the field of Theology! If you are unable to make it to the student session there will be another Townhall Meeting on March 16, 6PM-7PM in the Worthington Conference Center. The Zoom link will be provided if you are unable to come in person.

Saints take this opportunity to meet our two potential Presidents, as they will be responsible for the future of the school and their decisions will have an impact on the future of YOUR education. You have the opportunity to see and question their intentions for applying for this position and also you can help provide a warm Saints welcome to our future president! If you are unsure of the information provided by the article or the emails provided by the school, you can view more information regarding these candidates through the official presidential search website: https://www.stmartin.edu/mission-vision/leadership/presidential-search or you can visit the A.S.S.M.U Instagram page for more information about other updates on times these candidates will be here on campus.
