Introduction by Belltower Staff
On the morning of Thurs., Mar. 21, 2024, the Faculty Senate moved and seconded a Vote of No Confidence against Co-Interim President Roy Heynderickx and Provost Dr. Tanya Smith Brice. Both Votes of No Confidence passed. In addition to the letters sent to the affected parties, a third letter was sent to “Other Recipients.”
Belltower staff offered the opportunity to comment to the Faculty President for the 23/24 Academic Year and Faculty President for the 24/25 Academic Year. Both parties agreed that the letters speak for themselves and do not need an additional comment from the Faculty Senate.
We have also offered Co-Interim President Roy Heynderickx and Provost Dr. Tanya Smith Brice the opportunity to comment on the situation. As of writing this, the Belltower has not received comments from either party. If we receive responses from either party we will add them in as the situation develops.
While Vote of No Confidence letters do not have significant legal weight, they are among the strongest steps that Faculty can take. As we have done previously, we have attached the letters for our readers below.

As always, we will continue to follow the story as it develops.
The Co-Presidents and Provost will also be hosting a second Fireside Chat at Noon (12pm PST) Wed., Mar. 27th, 2024. There is a Zoom webinar option being offered.
