Astro King Phoenix performs at Saint Martin’s

On Friday, Feb. 27, Seattle hip-hop artist and Saint Martin’s graduate Astro King Phoenix performed a show in the Trautman Union Building (TUB). Tony Kern from KSMU, Saint Martin’s online radio podcast, hosted the event. Before the show, there was an open mic night for students to perform.

At 9 p.m., Astro King Phoenix, along with OC Notes (DJ) took to the stage while local artist Malcolm Procter painted to the side. Astro King Phoenix’s music kept the audience engaged throughout the performance. With a spaced-themed repertoire of eclectic beats and intricate raps, Astro King Phoenix and OC Notes set the tone for Procter’s surreal artwork.

Kern hopes to host more music events for the students at Saint Martin’s. For more information on upcoming shows and events check in at the TUB or listen to the KSMU podcast.
